The poetry of this piece was written in the third person as a prayer by the people of Manenberg. The social demoralisation experienced by the part of this society not involved in the drug trade and trafficking, spoke to my heart at a molecular level. Even though visually, severe poverty is portrayed, the hope of upliftment in this community is soul enriching.
